I earned my Ph.D. in Seismology from Korea University under the supervision of Prof. Seongryong Kim , and I’m currently a researcher at the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM).
My research was all about bringing deep learning into seismology—especially using long-term seismic big data from the Korean Peninsula to better understand earthquakes occurring in Korea.
During my Ph.D., I explored different deep learning techniques to improve how we analyze seismic data and understand regional earthquake patterns. These days, I’m diving deeper into the fundamental mechanisms behind intraplate earthquakes in and around the East Asia, using diverse seismological approaches.
